General Business is our largest major in terms of numbers. The general business curriculum covers several areas of business specialty including, accounting, marketing, management, and human resources. The curriculum covers the first two years of study for an AA degree. It is intended for transfer to a four year university program toward a Bachelor in Business Administration.

Curriculum

Included in the curriculum are required courses covering the General Education Core classes:

  • Comm. 101
  • English 101 & 102
  • Math 160
  • 2 Humanities
  • 2 Sciences
  • 1 Gen Ed Social Science
  • 2 PE activities or PHYE 155

Business required courses include:

  • Econ 201 & 202
  • Acct 201 & 202
  • Busa 207 & 208--Business Statistics
  • Busa 265--Legal Environment of Business

Business Electives:

  • 6 credits from a variety of classes including Finance, Computer, Marketing and Management courses (see General l Business checklist) for a total of 64-70 credits.

Boise State University CSI Program

Our students have the advantage of completing their Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from BSU, in Management or Accountancy, right here on the CSI campus. Employment Outlook

Business is a practical field of endeavor. The possibilities are unlimited. Students of business and economics are employed in all areas of commerce, including, corporate positions in marketing, management, and human resources, and in industries of banking, production, services, as well as government and labor organizations.

Entry level salaries range form $24,000-$35,000. Salaries are dependent on the nature of the position and the forces market competition.
